Overview

Name: Road Ecology Research Society of Japan (RERSJ)

Purpose:
The Society aims to study and explore the relationships between roads, greenery, nature, and wildlife. Through academic research related to environmental conservation, the collection and dissemination of technical information, the exchange of knowledge, and public outreach, the Society contributes to the conservation of the natural environment and the preservation of biodiversity in the planning, management, and operation of transportation infrastructure. It also seeks to enhance the overall quality of the social environment.

Activities:

  1. Research activities related to environmental conservation

  2. Activities for communication, outreach, and public awareness

  3. Coordination, advice, and support for organizations engaged in the above activities

  4. Proposals and advisory services to transportation infrastructure operators

Programs::

  1. Organization of research meetings on environmental conservation in roads and transportation infrastructure

  2. Publication of journals, newsletters, and related materials
  3. Collection and dissemination of information on environmental conservation technologies
  4. Exchange of information domestically and internationally
  5. Public outreach and awareness activities
